Question: Do you think Windows 7 will fail to sell like Windows Vista did?

  1. Windows Vista isn't bad. At all. Windows 7 is a waste of money, Vista is doing it's job just fine.

  2. Olivia's right on the money with this one. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Vista. Personally, I love it the most out of any operating system I have used. Windows 7 is quite literally just Vista with a few insignificant UI tweaks, minor driver foundation tweaks, and minor performance tweaks, which in this day and age, having a computer that can't handle Vista is a poor excuse for disliking it.

  3. I'm interested to see how well Windows 7 performs. Personally, I still prefer Windows XP to Vista because I find it much easier to use and it does not waste resources on unnecessary features.

  4. I agree with Mike, I prefer XP over Vista. My dad bought a laptop about two years ago, before Service Pack 1 was released, and it sporadically crashes on him all the time. He cannot even install SP1 because of those errors. Admittedly, almost all OSes are buggy on their first release, but I am just not satisfied with Vista's performance. As a programmer, it bothers me to see all the useless intricacies the development team included, such as the clock hands winding up when the GUI first loads and transparent window headings. Even Minesweeper is no longer fun: a dialogue box pops up and gets in the way every time you lose.

I'm excited for Windows 7, although it too looks like it's going to use a lot of RAM to run properly (I will always take functionality over graphics). A friend told me that Intel rushed the production of Vista, and that 7 is going to be what Vista should have been. We'll see...
